Basic Terror

A scientist at a Florida university inadvertently creates a “rage virus” while performing experiments intended to restore dead brain tissue in baboons. When a journalist for the college paper breaks into the campus lab, he’s bitten by one of the infected baboons; the virus soon spreads to a trio of rapists and a valley girl, all of whom go on killing sprees. The prank in this movie of slipping eye drops into someone's drink is a bad idea.

While urban legend claims Visine will cause a couple hours of diarrhea, it will not, but the tetrahydrozoline in it can cause severe problems such as lowering body temperature, respiratory failure, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, tremors, blood pressure changes, fast or slow heartbeat, seizures, coma and even death if not properly treated. Slipping eye drops into someone's drink is in effect poisoning them and can be prosecuted as such.
