Revolution (1968)
Ace of Cups
Since the poster proclaims "Exposed ... The weird rites of the Hippies" it should be noted that stories of what the media had labeled as "hippies" had been in the press for awhile at this point. During this time there was a major influx of kids who felt they identified with how the media described these "hippies" that they had read about. The people that media had originally labeled "hippies" for the most part had moved off and out because this influx had totally changed things. Different groups, same old generalized media label. Heck, even on the film several people distance themselves from the "hippie" label.
Since the Sexual Freedom League is also shown it should be pointed out that they were actually formed in New York City in 1963 then eventuality started a bay area branch, but with the medias generalizations they too are an examples of California hippies along with countless other groups that the media neatly tied together under the "hippie" label.
