No Reason (2010 Germany)

While planning to move, the young mother and her husband will experience anything but an ordinary day! It all begins with a strange visit from her soon to be ex neighbor, the postman who mentions an urgent need. Later, when coming home from grocery shopping, Jennifer discovers an elderly neighbor, who is her son Niko s babysitter has disappeared. She also receives a terrifying and disturbing letter. The fateful delivery contains a macabre death poem by yet another occupant of her building, plus some compromising sex photos of her husband and the missing babysitter! To get over the initial shock of this disturbing news, she decides to take a bath, and promptly falls asleep in the bathtub. When she awakes, she finds herself on the floor of her apartment covered in blood and body parts! Centre to this surreal and horrific scene is a mysterious masked man who promises to lead Jennifer on the right path toward the sacred white light . The story continues as a tale of physical and mental torture! (IMDB Craig Peacock)

Turn the Page (1999)

Turn the Page (1999)

Jonas Ã…kerlund directed Metallica's music video "Turn The Page" The story of that video clip has been extended as a short film. In this short film, Ginger Lynn Allen- the blonde woman whom you can see on the video clip- plays the night club stripper/prostitute who is trying to raise her 12 year old daughter. We see daily scenes from her daily life. We hear the story both from the daughter's point of view and her mother's. The mother who is over 35 says she always wanted to be rock star. Her daughter indistinctly and unconsciously questions his mother's way of raising her. For instance, she says things sort of "my mother tells me that I should never start smoking but she smokes a lot" while her mother is smoking as her daughter is asleep or "my mother tells me not to watch a lot of TV because there is too much garbage on TV but she just watches TV more than I do." Ginger Lynn Allen's acting is quite good. Her striptease polo dance and the brutal sex she had to suffer at the end of the movie are among the most memorable scenes of the movie. I guess these scenes could have been more careful if the movie had not been shot in documentary-like voice-over. (IMDB shutterbug_iconium)

We Are Twisted Fucking Sister! (2014)

We Are Twisted Fucking Sister! (2014)

Great storytelling, awesome interviews. I especially love how this is a "Rockumentary" only on the surface, but underneath there is a story about generally having no chance in life, constantly being told you're worthless and dumb and that you'll never make it, and what you believe in is stupid, AND THEN overcoming all the obstacles in life, and believing in yourself and in what you do, and ultimately giving the whole world the finger! I love that. That's exactly what's driving people who have a true calling and passion. (IMDB Andy Brings)
