It is just amazing what great crap could be produced in the 1970's - and this
is a compliment to many "Sultan-of-Sleaze" directors and actresses.  There is
a story about harems and sheiks but that is not very important. It's all an
excuse to make a sex/porn movie. The most amazing about this X-rated 1972 movie
is the very explicit sex and nudity, with some BDSM connotations and the exotic
location of the Middle-East. This is above-average stuff in the genre. ... this
movie deserves cult-status; it is so bad that it becomes good. (IMDB)

The Godson (1971)

An ambitious mobster, Marko, makes the local brothel into a rousing
success after double-crossing the mafia Don. This of course angers
certain people who come after him.. As you suspect with a Harry Novak
produced film, the plot is secondary to the sex and nudity. A strange
note the Director, William Rotsler, of this film also wrote for "The
Real Ghostbusters" cartoon show. Wild stuff. (IMDB)

Hell Ride (2008)

From executive producer Quentin Tarantino comes "Hell Ride," a
throw-back biker flick/vehicle for Larry Bishop, who not only
serves as the lead in the film, but also steps up to the plate
as writer/director. The film follows the exploits of a hardened
clan of bikers known as The Victors whose penchant for booze,
women and good old fashioned revenge seems to have bonded them
for life.

Bit parts from the likes of David Carradine and Dennis Hopper
may serve to shake you out of the semi-comatose state the film
lulls you into, but neither character do much to improve or advance

White Slaves of Chinatown (1964)

The Olga movies have a place in exploitation cinema history as being some of
the first successful 'roughie' films and they gave us one of the first demented
female icons of the grindhouse era.  The Ilsa flicks were obviously inspired by
the Olga series. This ... movie that consisted of narration over various scenes
of women becoming addicted to drugs and being tortured for not submitting to

Olga's House of Shame (1964)

This is the 3rd movie in the infamous Olga series starring Audrey Campbell
and it's a classic sickie! The pseudo mondo narration and the Wagner-like
music gives the film an unique edge. It's low budget but nicely shot (handheld
camera, dogme-style!) in glorious b/w and Miss Campbell is captivating in a
twisted sort of way. John Waters went to filmschool in New York around that
time and said it influenced him more than any Eisenstein movie!

Black Rose Ascension (1975)

aka Kurobara Shôten

Shin Kishida stars as Juzo, a self-important pinku eiga director clearly
modeled on Nagisa Oshima. Production is halted on his new film when lead
actress Meiko is too obviously pregnant to film sex scenes. Looking for
a replacement, he comes across the ubiquitous Naomi Tani, starring here
in one of the rare roles which doesn't require her to be bound with rope.
Everything goes well until Tani starts a sex scene with Hajime Tanimoto,
who got Meiko pregnant. Juzo realizes that he's in love with his new starlet,
so he cancels the film, marries Tani, and lives happily ever after......
Well directed by Tatsumi Kumashiro, and with plenty satirical in-jokes to
amuse devoted pinku eiga buffs, Kurobara Shoten is among the genre's most
engaging self-examinations.
