26 men are chosen to participate in the roles of guards 

and prisoners in a psychological study that ultimately 

spirals out of control. V & FN

Based on "Das Experiment" 2001 which in turn was based on Zimbardo's 

prison study. The study in this film differs from the actual study in 

that it introduces a strong economic motive and there are several 

suggestions in the film that the person who became lead guard was unbalanced.
