Sorority Girls and the Creature from Hell (1990)

Sorority Girls and the Creature from Hell (1990)

This movie is from a particularly fallow period in the late 80's/early 90's when a lot of low-budget filmmakers decided they could make a "horror" movie if: 1. they scraped together all the change they could find in the cushions of the couch, and 2. they convinced some silicone-enhanced "scream queens" to show off their silicone-enhanced breasts.

There is no real plot, this movie doesn't need no stinkin' plot. The acting is really atrocious. The only thing I found amusing is that the actress who has most of the nude scenes in this(Dori Courtney--if that IS her real name) uses an obvious body double. I mean why not just cast the body double? Do you really need an actress here? And what about the poor body double? Would you even bother putting "body double in 'Sorority Girls and the Creature from Hell'" on your resume? But perhaps I've got the whole thing backwards. Perhaps the anonymous body double was fine showing her breasts and butt cheeks for money as long as she didn't have to have her name and face associated with this movie! Maybe Dori Courtney is the REAL body double. At any rate, I wish I'D used a body double to watch this piece of crap. (IMDB lazarillo)

The Devil's Dolls (2016)

The Devil's Dolls (2016)
aka
Worry Dolls

A serial killer leaves behind a box of "worry dolls" after he is killed by cops. Basically, you tell your worries to a worry doll and supposedly it takes them into itself thus liberating you. Anyhow ... the dolls (4 or 5, I believe) accidentally get distributed while in transit to police headquarters. Not a good thing for the new owners whose fears and insecurities become amplified to paranoia by the dolls. (IMDB  Boloxxxi) NF

Crash (1976)

Crash (1976)
aka
Death Ride
Akaza, the God of Vengeance
Draculas Todesrennen
Die Killermaschine

Bitter invalid Marc Denne (well played to the angry hilt by Jose Ferrer) tries to kill his unhappy young wife Kim (a solid and appealing performance by Sue Lyon). However, Kim survives the murder attempt and uses a strange trinket with supernatural powers to sic a lethal black car that destroys everything in its dangerous path on Marc.

Director Charles Band uses the pretty silly script by Mark Marais as an excuse to go [hog] wild with loads of spectacular vehicular carnage complete with strenuous slow motion, plenty of explosions, and more than enough mangled metal for a dozen demolition derbies. The capable cast treat the foolish material with admirable seriousness: John Ericson as the concerned Dr. Gregg Martin, Leslie Parrish as sweet nurse Kathy Logan, John Carradine as the helpful Dr. Wesley Edwards, and Jerome Guardino as the diligent Lt. Begler. The ever-creepy Reggie Nalder has a nice bit as a weird guy at a swap meet. The sharp widescreen cinematography provides a pleasing polished look. Andrew Belling's funky-chilling score does the right-on groovy trick. Sure, this movie is basically mindless schlock, but it's nonetheless still quite entertaining in a blithely inane sort of way.
